Hi, I have a Diamond X with the same problem. I've been engulfing ads and annoying screens for weeks. After using the app "Malwarebytes" this detected several infections:
GStore
/data/app/com.export.six-1/base.apk
Settings
/data/app/com.android.keyguard.systemsss-1/base.apk

Also, when you feel like the notification bar goes crazy, going down and up ...

We got ripped off?
UMI, for when a solution?

Hi, I have a Diamond X with the same problem. I've been engulfing ads and annoying screens for weeks ...

Hallo

Insgesamt Nicht wirklich vertrauenserweckend. Mal schauen ...

Yep, have had the same problem. First it was GStore and then an app called "Settings". I could uninstall this apps but the came back. Then I installt the app "HideApps" from GooglePlay Store and this app shows a hidden app running in the backgound called "Opera Mobile Store" signed by hanhai.hanhai_OHQ. The app could not be uninstalled. HideApps can deactivate them. All in all not really  trustworthy.  We sill see...

Has UMI accepted that they've put on all this malware and are they going to do anything about it?

Have UMI admitted they've installed a load of malware on our phones and are they going to do anything about it?

Anyone found solution to this problem?
I have diamond X and this ads and fake settings and also fake phone and some loopscope app keeps getting installed.
Instalation from different sources is disabled and nothing out of google play store was ever installed.

Really bad practice from this manufacter and I'm highly dissapointed. Is there any cleaned ROM out there to use with this device? Or some app that manages to block this things without root?
I would root but I'm afraid that would give this malware that's apparently integrated within the stock ROM even more permissions.

Try use NoRoot Firewall https://play.google.com/store/ap ... greyshirts.firewall
I am using this to block access of some programs and telephone and avoid riskware

I bought a UMI Diamond at the end of last year. It seemed to be the last phone that UMI manufactured that supported 4G 2xSIM and SD(my 3non negotiable requirements). I had previously owned a Rome X which I thought was amazing value, but GPS broke after the phone was dropped (a big drop) though no other damage.
Anyway, the Rome X impressed me, as did the Diamond initially.

The first problem was the browser opening seemingly random ad pages, drawing over whatever I was doing. This was an irritation, but actually became dangerous when I was driving using Google maps for navigation, in heavy expressway traffic, in a city I am not familiar with, and in a country I am not familiar with, when an ad page opened up over Google. This killed Maps and left me struggling. I didn't even have data switched on, so got a page not found error.

I assumed that I had installed something bad, so I went down the traditional route, uninstalling apps to track down the culprit, then factory data reset. and reinstall only the essentials. Nothing worked, virus scan and malware scan found nothing.

Things began to change, icons began appearing on my screen, often with Chinese characters in the name, app were being installed, some detected by antivirus programs.

My phone was bought in Europe, and has never left Europe, so why would it have Chinese characters in icon names? the only reason seemed to be that the phone was manufactured in China. I had logically narrowed the problem down to SIMTOOLKIT, this seemed the only possibility because the OS couldn't possibly be responsible. Then I read about Cosiloon, then I found this thread.

The only thing I can say for sure is that I will never again buy a UMI phone, and I will advise anyone I meet who is considering a purchase. The phone may seem great value, but not so great if it becomes unusable in just a few months.

I now have 27 icons that open web pages in my screen. I know I can delete them, just trying to spot a pattern
