\n\nthis phone has big potential on the hardware even the caméra is good but the software is bad plz upgrade it with a real autofocus and plz let the second camera working because now it's fake caméra and lpz make beauty option for the caméra and pro mode and plz activate camera 2 api because i can't work with google camera hdr+ ,i don't want to be not happy for buying umudigi phone in place of xiomi or one plus

\n\nI have the version 20180911 and it works fine, even it is an error it is the better I had, of course the camera in low light is not good, but it seems umidigi is not interesting to improve phone after sales . For this reason it is the first and last product I will buy from this company... In this version there is the menu of settings, Smart Assistant in Englisg and French ( my language is set to italian !).
I know this version is for the special version (upgrade) but all works fine I will wait and flash update before to change . I hope Umidigi will do also some security update ! or NOT!! and of course Android 9 ...

this version refers to z2special.. so if you keep this version you will receive updates for z2special and not for our z2 classic.. so you better flash through spft the 20180829 version.. this is what i did.. also i tried to flash android 9.0 through treble project and our phone boots just fine.. The only problem i had was modem problem (i could make calls but not receive calls and also mobile data was broken). Everything else were operating just fine.. So at least we could easily have android 9 in the near future ;-)

Apog i would love to hear more about your experiences with a project treble rom on our phone. would you mind starting a thread on xda? Which rom did you used? Im sure that if you share the bugs on xda someone will halp to solve the problems. Thank you

this is what i flashed.. i factory reset phone and through adb i flashed the gsi image (needs unlocked bootloader).. phone boot fast and just fine.. Android pie works very good and i didnt noticed any serious bug... But unfortynatelly theres no gsm signal in both sims.. signal level looks ok in phone icon, but unfortunatelly i can only make calls but not receive calls... strange eh? looks like broken modem... i asked in the forum but nobody answered me.. i am probably the only one flashing pie in umidigi z2 :-(

Very interesting. i will try it by myself. If you start a new thread at xda people with more knowledge can maybe help us to solve the problems. I think many umidigi z2 users dont know that there is a posibillity to flash a treble rom. did you tried other treble roms like resurrection remix or lineageos 16?
