The CPU can reach much higher temperatures and that's still normal.

So when the CPU is like 42°C, it's not overheating and it's normal and safe to use?
And when the battery is so hot, is there a chance that it will expand?
Is that screenshot real? When my Umi Z is like 40°C, I can not touch it becaus it's to hot... 87°C?!?

The screenshot is real but that value is the internal temperature of the CPU, that can jump up and down even 30 degrees in fragments of seconds according to the level of load of the processor. According to the available studies, a Li-Ion or Li-Po battery can start to be damaged from about 60 °C. Lower temperature values shouldn't take any effect on it.

I cannot reproduce your issue and I don't remember if anybody else has reported a such problem.
First downgrade your system to the last version that worked correctly on your phone by flashing it again with SPFT. So it will turn out if you have a hardware defection and its appearing after the upgrade is just an accidental coincidence or you still have a specific software issue.

The camera problem began to occur after upgrading via OTA to Android 7.1.1. I saw in the forum that you had the update made by SPFT, I installed ROM with Android 7.1.1, with the files available in the forum.
I installed the Android 6 ROM and the camera went back to work, I took pictures and Flash was working.
After testing with the ROM of Android 6 I ran the installation of the upgrade through SPFT and installed the forum ROM with Android 7.1.1 and the problem with the camera and the flash reappeared. Follows error print.
Help me do not want to have Android 6 installed. I bought the phone because it would be upgraded to Android 7.1.

Hello Friend, although we all want to be to the last version 7.1.1, in the case of this update for the Umi Z is a big failure and many things fail (camera, Wifi, mobile data, batteries, etc ...) .for my 23 days experience with 7.1.1 waiting for a patch and testing things I recommend you go back to version 6.0, the phone will be operational while Umi takes out a patch to fix all the problems and cross our fingers so that this time they do all right.

Download version 6.0 and using SP Flash Tool in firmware mode downgrade.

The wait seems to go long and also if you have generated a problem and they do not understand or reproduce they answer that they can not reproduce the problem which is as if they told you that the problem does not exist.

The said if you want a 100% operative cell install 6.0 until they get the problem fix patch.

Patience patience and more patience is the best solution and apparently the only one.

According to the error message you got, the camera or the flash light might be really occupied by another app or the stock camera app has no permission to access the camera hardware. This can happen after upgrading to Android 7.1.1 if you restore app data saved in an android 6.0 version, even if that's a google cloud backup.
Remotely I cannot tell you which app can cause such a conflict on your specific device, so I can recommend you only to start with a clean installation of the 7.1.1 ROM, so you should flash it in firmware upgrade mode, then after the first boot up, in the setup wizard, choose to setup your phone as a new device. After finished, first test the camera before installing any custom apps.

Sorry but what are you talking about? What failure? What about the camera, Wi-Fi, mobile data and battery?
If you have such issues, please specify them with details.

A problem I keep getting is Bluetooth turning itself off. This is a big issue for me as I use a smartwatch.

Is there any news on the black notification bar getting changed?

Hello,

This update in Nougat/version 7 went very badly:
1) the OTA update was a failure. After this update, the phone kept rebooting.
2) I upgraded the version "UMIDIGI_Z.V7.01_20170601_update.zip" with SP Flash Tool in "Firmware Upgrade" mode. Same problem, the phone kept rebooting.
3) I made this same update, this time in "Download Only" mode. As expected, I lost my Ids. I have set them with your "SN Write Tool" page. No problem, except I lost my serial number (it became : 0123456789abcdef). There, the OS worked, but was very unstable. Frequent restarts, and I even lost the sound!
4) I downloaded "rom-20170225_g15v97_kw_u8_4m.rar" and flashed it with SP Flash Tools. This installation proved very stable. I then accepted the OTA update one by one. Everything went well until version 7.01_20170601. After version is installed, the phone reboots randomly.

Currently, I have remained in this state, I stay in version 7.01_20170601. The phone is usable. But it reboots without reason, usually when you need to go into the Wifi options, or 3G / 4G.

I look forward to an update that corrects this instability related to everything that is radio. Thanks in advance.
