After installing the V7.01_20170601 Android 7.1.1 system software
For UMIDIGI Z via OTA the camera and flashlight have stopped working.
The camera application closes when it is opened and the flashlight, which uses the camera led, does not work. Has there already been an update that fixes this issue?

Comments

I think the OTA Upgrade is buggy and everyone should start with a clean SPFT flash. You're now on the latest build. No fix expect flash.  Post time 2017-6-21 23:02

Well it's the CPU for sure, but it's also the battery that's very hot, it has the same temperature as the CPU.

The CPU can reach much higher temperatures and that's still normal.

It's a UMi Z while its processor is fully loaded.

On the other hand, the processor's heat dissipation affects the temperature measured by the battery temp sensor. The environmental temperature also have a serious effect.

So when the CPU is like 42°C, it's not overheating and it's normal and safe to use?
And when the battery is so hot, is there a chance that it will expand?
Is that screenshot real? When my Umi Z is like 40°C, I can not touch it becaus it's to hot... 87°C?!?

The screenshot is real but that value is the internal temperature of the CPU, that can jump up and down even 30 degrees in fragments of seconds according to the level of load of the processor. According to the available studies, a Li-Ion or Li-Po battery can start to be damaged from about 60 °C. Lower temperature values shouldn't take any effect on it.

I cannot reproduce your issue and I don't remember if anybody else has reported a such problem.
First downgrade your system to the last version that worked correctly on your phone by flashing it again with SPFT. So it will turn out if you have a hardware defection and its appearing after the upgrade is just an accidental coincidence or you still have a specific software issue.

The camera problem began to occur after upgrading via OTA to Android 7.1.1. I saw in the forum that you had the update made by SPFT, I installed ROM with Android 7.1.1, with the files available in the forum.
I installed the Android 6 ROM and the camera went back to work, I took pictures and Flash was working.
After testing with the ROM of Android 6 I ran the installation of the upgrade through SPFT and installed the forum ROM with Android 7.1.1 and the problem with the camera and the flash reappeared. Follows error print.
Help me do not want to have Android 6 installed. I bought the phone because it would be upgraded to Android 7.1.

Hello Friend, although we all want to be to the last version 7.1.1, in the case of this update for the Umi Z is a big failure and many things fail (camera, Wifi, mobile data, batteries, etc ...) .for my 23 days experience with 7.1.1 waiting for a patch and testing things I recommend you go back to version 6.0, the phone will be operational while Umi takes out a patch to fix all the problems and cross our fingers so that this time they do all right.

Download version 6.0 and using SP Flash Tool in firmware mode downgrade.

The wait seems to go long and also if you have generated a problem and they do not understand or reproduce they answer that they can not reproduce the problem which is as if they told you that the problem does not exist.

The said if you want a 100% operative cell install 6.0 until they get the problem fix patch.

Patience patience and more patience is the best solution and apparently the only one.

According to the error message you got, the camera or the flash light might be really occupied by another app or the stock camera app has no permission to access the camera hardware. This can happen after upgrading to Android 7.1.1 if you restore app data saved in an android 6.0 version, even if that's a google cloud backup.
Remotely I cannot tell you which app can cause such a conflict on your specific device, so I can recommend you only to start with a clean installation of the 7.1.1 ROM, so you should flash it in firmware upgrade mode, then after the first boot up, in the setup wizard, choose to setup your phone as a new device. After finished, first test the camera before installing any custom apps.
