You can downgrade your phone with SP Flash Tool by flashing any earlier ROM, that you can find in the ROM section. However, I suggest you to rather flash the official Android 7.1.1 in firmware upgrade mode to get a clean installation of the new system. Then at least for a short time try to test it without installing your personal apps.

o.k  My "Z" is currently running the latest patches of Android 6.0 20170411 (?)

I've downloaded the V7.01_2017_06_01_update.zip and am planning on doing a manual OTA update from an SD card .(... or can u get at the internal storage via a USB cable if phone plugged into a mac ?)

is  this the best/easiest way of getting to android 7 ?
