Please download and flash it, then post your feedback in this thread. The OTA update is almost ready to be released but as a reaction to the testers' feedback, some unplanned modifications are being processed causing some delay. According to the latest info, the SP Flash Tool format of the first final version is going to be released on this Saturday (I'll share it here in the ROM section as soon as possible), then after a few days of testing, it will be pushed to the OTA server as an official and wireless system upgrade.

I really don't understand why all the rush for the update!

Hardly a rush at this point! Uni made a big thing of the coming update to N in the presale advertising, and O is already well on the way and N isn't here yet for us.

New models but with older processors inside. That is the key. The Crystal is just an idea yet, not a real product, so now we can talk about UMIDIGI C Note and UMIDIGI G. Both of them are built with MT6737 SoC, which received the Android 7.0 SDK from MediaTek much earlier. So, that's possible to release them with Android 7.0 out of the box. Maybe you could realize that, even the newer C Note and G will be released with Android 7.0, while the Z and Z pro is receiving a 7.1.1 upgrade now. So basically the Android version is specified by the SoC and usually only the higher standard SoC platforms receive Android version upgrades.

Please don't be so negative. The two models are almost perfectly identical, only the back camera setup is different. So, you can install and run this beta ROM even on a Z Pro and only the back camera won't work. It's Android 7.1.1, not 7.0. The final Android 7.1.1 version will be released on the same or almost the same day for both UMi Z and UMIDIGI Z Pro.

let me get this straight. I understand this is the proceedure for a dev rom, but this is the official beta! So we are invited to test the rom for UMI but they wont protect those users from bricks!

You may just wait for the final OTA update. The beta testing is recommended to experienced users only and they don't have such concerns. I used to flash MTK phones for 10 years already (more than 4000 units flashed) but if I had at least one version of stock ROM available, I've never even could permanently brick a single one.

1. Fast charging works as same as with earlier versions: constantly 12V with around 1A charging current. Please measure with an external tool to confirm your statement.
2-3. mentioned in the list of known bugs.
4. Localization will never be perfect. There are more than 200 languages available, Russian is just one among them.

I have this problem and after some tests , i have changed logo.bin by the previous and modified the kernel (fastab ) and now i can flash the rom with spft , then flash the recovery and reboot the rom . reboot in recovery instal supersu and after instal gapps (mini) and reboot and all is ok.
