What Are the Functions of the Earphone Microphone Button?

Hi,

My UMI Diamond phone has Android 6.0. And when I listen to music I use the button on the earphone microphone to Play/Pause music by clicking once. And skip the track forward by clicking twice. However, sometimes when trying to skip the track the sound goes up, but I don't know why?

Also, what other functions can I do with the earphone microphone speaker button (apart from accepting and rejecting calls, next song, and play/pause song)?
