Wifi and 3G 4G Mobile network conflict

I have a Umi Iron Pro
Kernel Version: 3.10.65+
Build no: v 3.02

When Wifi and Mobile is turned on, the phone loses network. It is then necessary to turn off then on the wifi, or even do a restart. It will run well just on mobile network, but the wifi intermittently shuts off all internet connection.

I have a friend here who has the same phone with the same issue.

I have tried this phone in around 20 different settings, both here in NZ and around the world. The same problem happens with all router setups.  I have even updated my router at home to the latest version without that helping at all.

My old and very basic phones do not have this problem switching between wifi and mobile network.

Yes, I have read the item here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TugAXj34JNE&feature=youtu.be   about opening the phone and making sure the arials are properly connecting.  Surely this is not the UMI company recommended solution?

It has been very frustrating to try to get a solution to this basic problem.
