I just received my brand new Umi Super this week and when I installed the Hangout app I dont receive the SMS notification. I'd checked all the settings with my friend who have a Nexus Android and everything seems ok there but still no notification. Then when I open Hangout app then I get the message... Is Hang out compatible with Umi SUper??
The reason I want to use hangout app is that i need to communicate with apple product only on data. Is there another app that does IOS and Android?
I haven't had this issue, with Hangouts, since I don't use that specific app. I do have the exact same problem though with other apps like WhatsApp, facebook's messenger and snapchat. I've been checking all kinds of settings, reinstalled apps, factory reset, cleared cache etc., but nothing seems to be helping. I'm not sure if my non-stock SMS app is OK, but I guess it will show in time.
Always use apps from playstore.. To prevent any problems.
Hangouts worked fine for me in the past. But since it adds nothing more than the standard sms app i dont use it anymore. Also Google announced to stop with hangouts. This year
