Edited by car.cuevas at 2016-5-9 18:12 \n\nHi guys,

after more than 2 weeks I observed that the WIFI is also kind of unstable, places that I have with I have good reception with the rest of my devices ( Xiaomi Redmi2, VF895, Nvidia Shield Tablet, Lenovo T420, Nook Simple Touch ) don't even detect the WIFI Signal (WPA2)... The same is happening at work (open wifi), detects connect and drops constantly (I am not far from the router actually)....

I have for example these two pictures in which I compared it with REDMI2.

Please DEVs can you check this for the following SW iterations...

Thanks

Hi,
I also have had WiFi Issues but only when I am connected to a 5GHz W-Lan.
Using the 2.4Ghz it worked without any problems so yes their maybe is a SW Problem but with the work around by using 2.4Ghz W-Lan you should be fine till the next update.

Hi Pierre,

actually the networks I was named were in the 2.4GHz band... I don't have any 5GHz access point to test with... But definetly with the 2.4GHz is unstable, and the signal is really poor..

Maybe what we can try is to somehow force the WIFI from the mobile to get 2.4GHz networks; at linux in Linux I am familiar with some kernel modules in which you can force such a thing, but for Android I have no idea if possible...

Dear car.cuevas,

Please always speak about your specific phone. The wifi signal is definitely not poor and unstable generally at this model. An assembly issue of the antenna module might exist as I mentioned it in many posts. If your phone is defective, I suggest you to contact your reseller for a replacement and stop to report your issues here as general problems of this phone after testing only one representative of it.

Thank you,
Bence

Hi Bence,

well actually I can always speak from my phone and my experience with it, I cannot say for the rest of the people... But I am not the only one as some people talked about it already, I am just confirmed that I have something which is not working properly...

Here is my complaint with other bugs

Studies show that, the reason of the wifi issue can be related to both software (in special cases) and hardware. Engineers are working on the software side, so the issue of most users will probably be solved in the near future. If you experience a high battery drain of the wifi module beside its unstable working, than there's a better chance (not sure) for a hardware issue related to the antenna or its cabling.
