See here I have done 2 now and not too difficult. Best to 'upgrade' to Android 7 first as the screens I purchased did not work on 6. Be careful when removing antenna - perhaps leave it attached... Heat screen with hairdrier to loosen adhevsive and screen will come out. New screen/lcd as assembly from Aliexpress. Let me know if you need any more advice!

Cheers Trev, was kind of hoping it wouldn't take a full tear down to do - naively thought I might just be able to hairdryer the screen off and get to the connector with just the back off

Am living with the screen as-is at the moment, the left button no longer works because of the crack but I can live without it for now...

No worries, it's not too hard to do. Once the motherboard is out it's just a matter of removing the screen assembly, and as this is already damaged it doesn't matter if cracks!!
