Hi all, first post here. I'm new to the Umidigi brand and have been searching around for some details on the Umi Z phones, buthave been unableto find information on the following features which I need.

Things I am hoping this phone has:
1) Double tap to wake? I mean a version that works no matter even if it's just sitting on a desk (not like the HTC version where you have to pick the phone up for it to respond to tapping)
2) Does it support "Miracast" – direct screen mirroring via wifi to a TV (not Google Chromecast which needs to go through a router and needs an internet connection)
I have a Kenwood head unit in my car which uses Miracast to display a phone screen. Also a Samsung TV with miracast screen mirroring, which I want to use for showing friends my photos and videos from my phone.
3) Reasonably stock Android version. Does Umi use a heavy overlay like Sense UI or ENUI? Have you used a 3rd party launcher like Nova? Or is stock launcher pretty good?
4) Decent camera - what's the Z camera like? Is it good enough for quality snaps, or should I get the Z Pro?

Any information appreciated.

1) double tap to wake doesn't work properly.
2) I don't think it supports miracast, at least it never showed me the option for it.
3) android version is pretty much stock.
3) camera is one of the worst I've ever seen in a smartphone, let alone a decent one.
Also keep in mind that your battery will struggle to last abfull da

Don't buy it. It is the worst decision i have ever made. Wasted 220 bucks in a piece of metal i can t even use. Ordered an One Plus 3T.

That's exactly what I feel like doing.

I bought a UMI Z as a replacement for my OnePlus One, that was a very wrong move...

I'm giving UMI Z a last chance, waiting for the next firmware update. If I notice no improvement, I'm selling it and buy a OnePlus 3T that I know it won't disappoint.

Thanks to everybody for your thoughts. It's really confusing when people have had such different experiences with Umi. I like the phone design and features, just worried whether it will work properly. Not sure what to do at this stage. I really want a phone with 3 features: Miracast, tap to wake, on screen buttons, (not capacitive buttons). It's incredibly hard to find a phone with all 3 of these.

I am a serious technologist and looked around thr market for a long while and thought Z has all thr bells and whistle to be the best phones but i think that was wrong move. I have now realised clearly that its not just abt the hardware but OS need to be stable which previously i thought its Android and Google will never allow a bunch of amateurs to ruin its name.

I have however now bought it and experienced it for a couple of months and i am extremely unhappy because of the unstable software. I am waiting for another couple of months until they bring out Nougat and if its still the same, ill sell the phone.
