Marshmallow notification panel keeps appearing

I've been happily using my Umi Super for 6 months now with no issues but recently the notification panel keeps appearing automatically. When this happens I can't use any of the touchscreen appart from the very top right of the screen. I can use this section of the screen to move the notification panel up and down but struggle to get rid of it for about 10 seconds. After 10 seconds I can swipe the notification panel up and use the phone again for another 2 minutes before it happens again.

Is this a hardware or software issue? I haven't dropped or damaged the phone at all.

Hi, is your phone updated? (Settings > About phone > Wireless update) If that dosent fix it you might want to try a factory reset ( Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset ) this will delete your files so just backup everything on a memory card before doing it.
