how do i power the rome on

I received my UMI Rome today, but cannot get it to power on. There was no instruction booklet and it came with a European wall charger. I have been charging the phone using my regular wall charger and the USB cable. I tried pressing and holding the button on the side which seems like it would be the power button, and that did not turn the phone on.

For begin You must to fully charge Your phone. Battery that You receive may be is fully discharged (on last time I get all gadgets via air post fully discharged, may be it's instruction of air company's).

pull off the plastic of battery contacts.
