3G/4G issue

At my home location I have a very weak 4G signal and a very strong 3G signal.
With my previous phone I had 4G set as preferred network and the phone would connect to the strong 3G signal then when I drove into town it would switch to the strong 4G signal, all as expected.
However with the Umi Super, when I have 4G as preferred network selected, the phone jumps from the strong 3G signal to the very weak 4G signal and back again. This happens continuously while the phone is sitting stationary on my desk and makes the phone unusable as calls keep dropping.
I have never seen this behaviour before in an Android phone, I hope it is something that is fixed soon.

I have the problem when I have 4G preferred, my phone does not switch to 3G if there is no 4G available. I have to manually change the setting to 3G!!! Many times I have no internet at all even though an E or 3G icon is there... I have learnt to change my preferred network to 3G and then I get a connection... Please fix this!!!!

This is a big problem. only 3 g or 4 g. Automatic doesn't change. This should be corrected immediately. UMI Admins sleeping? fix correction software is not very difficult. OTA from must be corrected immediately. Or a reference to bad at umi.

Dear peejayw,

By your words it seems that you're at the border of a 4G covered area. So the solution in your case is to set the preferred network type to 3G.
The GPS issue howerver is a specific (probably hardware) problem at some devices. If it makes your phone useless, I suggest you to contact your reseller to get your phone repaired or replaced.

Dear users,

Some users claimed the opposite: to choose the 4G network automatically even if that's provided with a lower reception level. Maybe your other/earlier phones had a different reception or were set to different signal levels to change the network type but anyway a such uncertain working can happen with any mobile phones if you're staying at the border of a 3G/4G covered area. The possibility of choosing a slower network type manually is available especially for such cases. So please use it and if you go to a perfectly covered 3G/4G area, you can set the higher speed network type again.

It looks like phone is too aggresive in trying to find a 4g connection but I do not think we have any adjustment over this setting, perhaps Umi does? Could you advise on this please?
As you have been kind enough to reply to this issue which is affecting a number of people, could you also tell us what is happening with the poor gps where the displayed position wanders all over the map and makes it virtually impossible to use for things like navigating?

Holy sh.. Lot of users talking about this bug two month ago. And the admins dont resolve this.
When you select 4g prefered network,another problem is recicieving call because when the phone are in 4g network cant recieve calls this is a big bug very big. And lot of users are requesting UMI to fix this. I want my phone works as is expected.
PLEASE FIX THE 4G bugs,and camera shift colour etc.
