Brand new Super - Tuchscreen does not react / no reset possible

Hi there,

my Super arived today.
After first start I could interact cia tochscreen. Buttom seem to work fine.
A hardreset as a solution dint work either, I cound confirm the eMMC with the Power buttom.

Any suggestions?

No, this is a common problem. My phone is dead since one week already because of this touchscreen issue. It's a mess. Umi Support told me I have to contact the reseller. The reseller doesn't reply... The phone will go to bin soon...

it happened to me too. its easy to fix it. you need to install the official rom back!

i have done that and it worked perfectly fine and my phone is working. hope i helped

Thanks for your replies, I flashed the v3.01_20160616 with no effect. still no input possible.
Is there an option to to a reset via Software? The SmartPhoneFlashTool seems to do it.
Would be nice to keep the phone instead of sending it back to China :-(

It's a super common issue caused by faulty firmware that UMI released, they are releasing the new firmware early next week, if that doesn't fix it UMI will be getting tens-hundreds of thousands of returned handsets and face huge losses, so let's hope they take customer care seriously.

I have flashed the Umi Super with all firmware versions and the problem remains. Fortunetly i hava open dispute by paypal and the reseller made a 70% refund of the value of the phone. Without return the item.

Hi, I had big troubles with the 20160616 firmware.
Since I went back to 20160513 I'm able to use the touchscreen more than less
F.e. when it's on the desk not everything is usable, but when I have the device in my hand, it's better working.
Very strange behaviour, but since 20160513 let's say I can use it.
In fact what's really bad there is the GPS -> it's not useable. Hopefully the new release will solve all of this issues.
