Hello again,
Second day with my new UMI Touch. Very happy with it, but...

I would like to mention a few point, in case I need to do something...

1) last night I gave my phone a 100% charge. Today, after 18 short phone calls (under 5 mins each), 5 minutes of music, 30 photos, browsed the web for 30 minutes... I ran down to 40% !!! The phone says 23%Wifi usage, 19% idle, 12% screen + some other minor usage. So for tomorrow I have plugged it in to charge (using the supplied charger).

2) around 83% of charge it stopped charging. I checked the connection on the phone, it was fine, then I checked the plug. This was BURNING up hot! I unplugged it and I could smell it burning and the cord end attached to the charger was also extremely hot.
I threw the charger away! I am continuing the charging with an older charger I have from previous phone.

Should we be aware of something here? I dont think it should be left alone to charge overnight.
Looking forward to your advice.

Thank you.
Giannis

Dear,
Perhaps your phone adapter has been burned out, that could be caused by a over voltage or a poor soldering, you should use your old adapter to charge it.
We apologize for your inconvenience. We will strictly control our adapter supplier quality, you can contact the seller to ask them send you a new adapter.

My charger also came damaged. Simply does not carry the phone. When connected to the phone said "Overload".

Dear UMI Touch users,

The capacity of the provided wall charger was initially under rated for the phone's needs by an engineer fault. The phone needs 1.45A but the charger can provide a maximum of 1A safely and UMI Touch overloads it by draining 1.1A.
UMI has negotiated with their contractual partners to replace the inappropriate chargers for free.
Please, contact your reseller and request a new wall charger, referring to UMI's statement. UMI itself doesn't manage this issue with single buyers.

Regards,
Bence
