Edited by jasonx3 at 2016-4-14 00:07 \n\nSince my phone is still in transit to me I watched some reviews. One thing i noticed is that Touch's charger is a 5V 1A and takes 5 hours to get a full charge.

So my question is  that is it Safe to use a 3rd Party 2A charger such as Tronsmart?  Will that damage the battery?

Good question jasonx3. I received my UMi Touch right before the weekend and the charger seems defect. I'm an absolute n00b when it comes to electrickery so I'm afraid to blow up my new phone if I use my wife's charger of either her Samsung phone or tablet. Currently charging on an usb port of my laptop and that would take 10 hours As far as I understand most phones come with a 'speed charger' these days and what I would really like to know is: can both battery and the UMi Touch itself handle such a charger?

You may use any higher amperage charger. Your phone just simply won't use its maximum capacity while charging but it won't cause any damages if you use a good quality, stabilized output charger since the electronics of the phone will control the charging current. At Touch you can reach (theoretically) an about 1.4A charging current, so a 2A charger definitely can give you a valuable benefit against a 1A charger. 1.4A is quite not too much for a 4000mAh battery.
However, as always, the use of a factory charger is recommended and only using a factory charger is covered by warranty. Please, don't forget that before you start to experiment.

Edited by jasonx3 at 2016-4-18 22:29 \n\nI'm not a professional or genius but What i don't understand the is logic of using 1A charger to charge 4000mAh battery. As @Chr!s  said USB charging takes 10 hours ( which  is 0.5A) Touch going to take 5 hours for a full charge.  it's going to be a nightmare  don't you think?

That can be somewhere 4 and 5 hours if you let your phone to get completely discharged but that's not a lifelike (and not recommended) situation.
