This is the SP Flash Tool release of the

V1.0_20211217 system software

for UMIDIGI Power 5 4GB+128GB

Flash tool operation is recommended to experienced users only. If you are not yet an experienced flash tool user, please carefully read the flash tool tutorial before proceeding, and strictly follow each instruction.

Except if an authorized or responsible expert directly asked you to do that,

never format the flash chip of your device or you instantly lose your warranty!

UMIDIGI Power 5 receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricked your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again. Moreover, flashing with SPFT is the only option to repair (replace) damaged system software.

Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6765_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other components

VCOM driver: Windows 10 can automatically install it. Please make sure that your Windows is logged in with administrator rights and your computer has a working internet connection when first time connecting your phone.

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMIDIGI Power 5 if the standard method doesn't work.

It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop

1. Connect your phone to USB.

2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.

3. Press and hold the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.

4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

Kind request from users:
Please report any kind of new issues you experience after installing this update only if you've already flashed this ROM with SP Flash Tool in Firmware Upgrade mode. In rare cases a FOTA update can cause more or less serious malfunctions but that means only the update process went wrong, not a badly developed ROM. An updated stock ROM, especially related to the basic functions will not cause any new issues but will solve some of the existing ones.

Black screen on reboot after setting up device - not a data copy or transfer from a device or cloud backup - every time device is set up as a new device, no copy data. After setting device up, black screen - even in safe mode, and after many, many reboots, resets, and ROM flashes. Always, no matter what - this phone needs some SERIOUS updates. The camera does not focus at all most of the time, screen looks like the resolution is not set correctly - phone does NOT connect to vehicle infotainment in 2020 Corolla via USB.. I can't use a brand new phone that I bought - brand new and cannot use it! I see this is going to be another Power 3 flop - no updates, no support, no security updates.. I'm going to have to go BACK to my Huawei Y9 device, again, form 2019 - that literally just installed another update for security - THREE YEARS LATER.. Good LORD Umidigi - What is going ON??!!

Please update the Power 5 device!! A brand new device, that I cannot use is very much a paperweight at this point..

I cannot recommend Umidigi phones anymore.. not with how long it takes to receive updates and fixes.. So very disappointed..

I have flashed both GSI Android 10 and 11 to the A5 Pro which still works very well, but come on! I want to use this Power 5 device, I got it to use - not to wonder when fixes are going to be available.

As the last post - after setting the phone up, the screen goes BLACK, nothing. I can get the power options to reboot or power off, but even that doesn't look correct. Not even the same power menu as with the GUI. I want to use this phone!! I've flashed many, many, many times due to black screen and no way to use the device. Then try to use it again to be faced with this black screen issue on reboot. WHY.. I just want to use it . . . .

I have to use the initial release version to have a stable working version. The temperature reading from the thermal sensor are not correct, but works. No black screen after setup and reboot. There is, however, the issue of not having a current security release.

Is this going to end like the Power 3?
