Hello.
I have just received my umi rome today and it seems that it doesn't get LTE signal.
My Emax mini works great with the same SIM card in the same spot.
My carrier in Orange Romania, which according to the frequency bands umi rome supports should work without any issues.
One thing I noticed (because i had issues with other mtk phones previously while flashing), is that my phone has different IMEI numbers than written on the back. On the back there are 2 almost identical numbers 863050.... (as usual with dual sim phones) while in android it shows 2 others 28504.... and 34485... Could this be the problem with 4G connectivity?

hi overrid,

I was doing tests with UMI Rome and this was the situation.
Before Rome, SIM card was inserted on UMI eMAX mini and 4G was working perfectly. After insert SIM card on UMI Rome, 4G was not working. I was trying different things but I didn't find solution, until finally I called to my mobile carrier asking for status of 4G in my line, and for my sourprise, 4G was disabled. I request to activate 4G and after restart Rome, 4G started working. Please could you call to Orange and ask about status of 4G in your line?

Edited by overrid3 at 2016-1-11 21:53 \n\nSo, I've studied a bit and it shouldn't be an imei problem.I entered engineer mode and when i set network type to 4G only, the signal disappears. All the other modes are working (2G only/3G only/etc.)
I have another question, does the umi rome have 2 different network antennas?
I have a friend that had his phone in service to replace the display and when he got it back only 4G worked. It turned out that the guy who repaired it forgot to connect the 2G/3G antenna to the PCB.
Could this be the issue at hand?

Thanks for the interest. You really helped me. Or...not.
Well, actually it started working after entering engineer mode and i selected another option with lte for radio.
Now, there's actually no option selected in the regular menu. Weird!

Thank you for the reply. As i wrote above, it started working, even without restarting the phone. It was probably a network error.
