Here we talk a lot about hardware problems and forget about operating system support. Let's see how much Umidigi's support is concerned with protecting its customers' operating system.

Can someone tell me when it was released the latest Android security update for UMI Plus E?

Last security update was of January 05th, 2017.
Meaning 5 monthes old.
I guess this is what UMIDIGI calls "adequate support".
Or the patch from Google is "not working for UMIPLUS E specs, being the only device available on the market with 6GB LPDDR4 and P20"...

I guess people are not too much concerned about security level of their device...
hundreds of high or critical vulnerability fixed, but not implemented on our device.
For info, for device manufacturers:
•Android platform fixes are merged into AOSP 24-48 hours after the security bulletin is released and can be picked up directly from there.
•Upstream linux kernel fixes are linked to directly from the bulletin on release and can be picked up from there.
•Fixes from SOC manufacturers are available directly from the manufacturers.

For ROM update or upgrade, the re might be an excuse (a very bad and disrespectful, but still).
For security updates, what is the reason ?

By ignorance, people do not care much, maybe. This is the responsibility of the manufacturer and not the consumer, which is why there are the big brands and paid for it.

I know, we already pointed out several devices with same specs. You may find lots of such posts (some of them have recently been deleted by bencebacsi though, and some people banned without reason, like steal, zabuza34, piwaii, Dudulle and others too).
Every time answer is the same, they manage to find the tiniest detail that's not strictly the same to justify their unability to develop the needed stuff like updates or upgrades.

Sorry but this time I disagree. Z1 pros is not a great phone, it shares 95% of specs with our plus E. 2 only real differences are slighly thinner and screen type (amoled vs ips). everything else is the same. http://www.devicespecifications.com/en/comparison/561dc5dd9  .
You would be wise not to trust announcements and ads too much. Umidigi marketing dep is really good. Check announcements made for each device, then check the community forum about those same device. you'll see quite obviously that what people get in their hands is rather different and not behaving as expected, due mainly to a major lack of optimization and of developpment ability. not speaking of course of their epic support with the magic formula "reset, flash".

I paid a warranty insurance on my Umi Plus E phone. I contacted them and received no response to the follow-up of my complaint. I'm going to try to sell my phone and I'm going to go to another brand even paying a little more, but I know I have peace of mind. I can not be doing reset every month on the phone.
