Hi,

It is great to learn that the UMI Z supports Google assistant and I have managed to set it up but not being able to activate it because the Home button is mapped to open recent apps.
The Home button, when long press will open Google assistant but it is not the case here with the UMI Z. Long pressing the home button (both virtual and physical) will just launch the recent apps and that's call. This function can be allocated to the recent apps button only (the square button) or any one of the two capacitive button. So I hope UMIDIGI will change the Home button function and allow it to open Google assistant in future updates.

Thanks,
Uddhav

Google is rolling out Assistant in Australia, but for now I have screen search. As you can see it IS enabled, but I cannot use it. This is because the buttons are (physical): back, home, menu and long press home = recent apps. (virtual): back, home, recent apps and long press home = recent apps. We DO NOT need a Menu button as this hasn't been used since Android 4.4. Currently, we are unable (as a user) to remap holding the home button to Assistant / Screen Search.

Could any UMIDIGI admin comment on this?
