Me and my friend brougth an UMI Iron, we're from Mexico. The thing is that our phones doesnt recognize the 4GLTE network of "Movistar". This network is on the 1900 band, but still we cant navigate unless we use 3G (With serious lagging and failures on connection). What can we do to solve this? Or where can I talk with someone to help me solve my problem?

Hi JLmaq,

Unfortunately, the Iron is not compatible with a 4GLTE 1900 band network. If you had checked the official specs on umidigi.com you would have seen this to be the case. Also, this website is a superb resource for checking whether a particular model phone will work with your network: http://www.willmyphonework.net/

Searching for the Iron here and choosing the Mexico Movistar network will show you that it will not detect the 4G network.

I'm sorry, but there is not fix for this.

You're right. It does.

But that is a 3G frequency. WCDMA is for a 3G network. FDD is the 4G frequency's used.

I hope this helps,

Oh okey! Got it. But still... My phone says that I have 3G network, and I only can send messages on Whatsapp or Messenger. But when I try to go to a website or open Facebook app, it doesnt work... It just says that I dont have a connection or have a problem with my proxy... Can u help me to find how can I configure my phone to make it work?

My suggested starting point would be to check with Movistar to make sure your APN is set up correctly. They should be able to tell you the correct APN name and any settings attached to it.

These settings can be changed in the "Mobile Networks" settings on your phone.

I hope this helps,

I forgot to ask... Have you checked that your mobile data is turned on? It is set as off as default.

I had similar problem, you should go into wireless & networks-more-cellular networks-access point names-then check your apn settings, and try to change apn type from wap to default . that does the trick for me in Serbia.

Hello,

I had the same problem with other phone from Movistar. I went to the APN settings from Movistar and discovered that they have a proxy server on their settings. I removed it and now I can navegate everywhere and use third party software that access the internet. Hope this helps.
