The links don't work.

This one is for the MTK USB VCOM driver:

glurxyguy - you have to turn your phone OFF before you start flashing and leave it for a few minutes after powering down to make sure it's fully off.

Make sure you install the MTK USB VCOM Driver for your PC - there's one for W7 and another for W8 which should work with W10. Get download links here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2206421

Then follow the guide and video I linked in my 2nd post

Edited by Blandroid at 2015-8-31 21:36 \n\nAlso, the tutorial is not accurate:

1.  The information about getting Developer options is wrong.  You need to go into About Phone then click on Build Number 7 times to get the Developer options.

2.  If you get the PMT changed message from the Flash Tool, and you then select Firmware Upgrade you will be forced to select and flash the preloader.  The tutorial says not to flash the preloader which is usually good advice but does not work if you're doing a Firmware Upgrade because you cannot deselect it.

There is a much better tutorial and video by my friend ITXTutor on the China Devices website here:

That tutorial is quite complete but old and made for the 3.x versions of the SP Flash Tools. Thanks  ...

I posted a reply to glurxyguy yesterday about his issue and it's been removed.

Can someone explain why please?

I used no foul language or anything - my post was perfectly well-written and constructive.

Hi Blandroid,

I think you'll find someone "recommended" your post. Which, in one of the weird quirks of this forum software, bumps the post to the top of the thread (under the OP).

This is one of the things I've asked to be fixed as it can make following a conversation in a thread somewhat difficult. Your post was definitely helpful, well-written and not at all rude!

I hope this helps,
Gruffles

OMG, really?  Ahahahaaa!!   Thanks for letting me know Gruffles - thought I'd done something wrong, stupid or both.
