A recall would be in order if every phone has been manufactured with the same fault.
However the gps problem occurs to the earlier batch and there are normal devices reported in the forum. When the back plate was removed from one of the faulty one there was evidence a rejected back plate, with a GPS contact missing, was used in production, Thus it would be reasonable for the unfortunate users to send back their faulty products for new replacements.
My device is among those that works normally. I have tested mine with Sygic and Google map and could not find any fault. Thus the product works if it has been correctly assembled.
The phone on the whole is still a winner with a massive battery, modern OS that is fast and saves power, ability to take 200GB micro sdxc card and all the modern facilities of a mobile phone.
The sound quality and the camera are the two disappoint me. They work fine but appear on the substandard side relative to the overall performance of the phone.
The GPS is the best among the 3 mobiles phones I had previously. It is as rock steady as my Tom Tom devices which are devoted GPS units. I do feel sorry for the Super owners who haven't got a working GPS facility. I have struggled for years of trying the GPS to work on my Zopo 998 and 999 and so I know the frustration very well. |
