Please root your phone

I am trying to put the standard ROM (UMI eMAX KitKat V05 0715.zip) on my UMI Emax using Rootjoy. Everything is fine until the final stage where I get a message "Please root your phone - check the root authority allow".
I have no idea what to do next, can somebody advise please?

I did not get any pop up dialogs about authorising the computer and everything else seems OK.

I want to do this because a few weeks ago I was constantly getting a message "xxx has stopped working" so I re-booted the 'phone holding the volume control while turning on. Unfortunately everything was in Chinese so I just kept selecting the first entry and pressing the power key. The 'phone works but I would like a ROM that gives English messages if I need to re-set it.

I found iRoot and after several failed attempts from a PC I installed it on the Emax. It managed to root it at the second attempt and I have now blown the new ROM.
Unfortunately it seems to have installed some spam on both the PC and the Emax, hopefully not harmful.
Don't know if a forced reset will give me English or Chinese instructions though :-)

Please be very careful with kingoroot.  Tried that and got an app that was asking for a credit card on the playstore app and on Google Chrome. A hard reset was the only way to get rid of it. Not saying all kingoroot app are like this but better safe than sorry.
