UMI Rome Touch Scree Problems

OK so I've bought a UMI Rome X and A UMI Rome. The Rome X works fine and i've given this to my little boy as I bought the Rome because the spec was better. The touch screen is awful though and the calibration is way out. Before i send this back to China for a refund is there a fix for this (maybe a software update from the manufacturer?) I'm not wanting to install an app to fix it as it shouldn't need this to work.

Sorry, but as far as I know, there is no fix for it. The phone is very cheap partially because they cut back a lot on touchscreen quality (it detects only 2 fingers on the screen at the same time, btw) and partially because of very little software testing.
If the phone did not have the stupid black screen issue (which is completely destroying the user experience), which I am sure you will encounter sooner or later, it would have been a decent phone for the price, even with the sometimes unresponsive touchscreen in my opinion.
Anyway, I did not even bother to send it back to China - with the transport you pay to get it back to them and 1-2 months waiting time, it's not even worth the effort IMO.

I just think of this deal as playing at the casino and losing.
