Unfortunately that's not possible to reassign the functions of the Home button by any way. I reported this case to the engineers to look into this problem. Hopefully they will find a solution.

Hi tolkas,

1. Install Google Now Launcher from Google Play Store if you haven't done it yet.
2. Go to Settings --> Home and highlight Google Now Launcher.
3. Press the Home (fingerprint) button.
Now your launcher has changed to Google Now Launcher.

Bence

Hi, thanks for the answers, but that's to install the launcher of google, but I want to activate the new feature presented with google android version 6 marshmallow "Google Noow on Tap". I have the application of google nstalled and activated theese ption. But when I press the button I get home multitasking, and not the option of Google on Tap.

This is what I want to do.

Hi,

I have the umi touch as my daily driver phone. And it runs on android 6.0 standard.
Android 6.0 has (as mentioned) the new feature called google now on tap. But this doesn't work on my phone because google now on tap needs to be activated by holding the home button.
but when I do this it will launch the recent apps menu.

I hope that it is possible to access it on a different way.
maybe UMI could make a little OTA update where the recent apps could be accessed by holding the menu button (the left one). And then you could open Google Now on Tap by holding the Home button.

So my question is: Could you please consider to fix this because I really want to use google now on tab.
and I personally think the recent apps on the menu button is way better then on the home button.
its also possible to fully remove the menu button and make from the button a recent apps button only.
But that makes no difference because I only want to use Google Now on Tap .

Greetings,
Demitry

Dear Demitry,

That's already possible to reassign the menu button to use it as a recent apps list caller. Please, check the following thread.

The developers are investigating the possibilities of uising the Google Now on Tap feature.

Hi,
Unfortunately this issue is related to Google since the home button itself works on the phone but Google Now cannot use it. Google should update their app for wider hardware compatibility.
