I have recently bought the Umi Touch mobile phone and the wifi keeps dropping. It connects for about 10 seconds then drops off.
I've updated the phone to the latest firmware and don't have a problem with any other devices that connect to the same internet.

I've event tried to change my router settting to 5GHz and I had the same problem.

I have ordered another UMI Touch for my wife and awaiting delivery.

Can anybody let me know what I should try before having to relutently send the phone back.

Cheers

Phil

Dear Phil,

I suggest you to keep the 2.4GHz setting. If your router is set to the obsolete WEP or WEP2 security, I also suggest to change it to WPA. The system of UMI Touch is not well polished for those old systems. As a special case, some UMI Touch devices are affected by an antenna connection issue. In that case you phone needs to be repaired. Please check the following post.

1. Little chance but it can be a software issue. Flash your phone with SP Flash Tool. Link: http://community.umidigi.com/thread-2939-1-1.html
2. Still can be a misaligned or untight antenna.
3. A 5.0GHz connection might be unstable. Use 2.4GHz.
4. WEP(2) security handling is not well polished. Use WPA if security is needed.

I do have also some WIFI problems as documented here:

http://community.umidigi.com/thread-2979-1-1.html

I am using WPA2 and/or no encryption at all and 2.4GHz .... So I think I may have also a bit of the same problem...

Hello,

I had this problem too and had it resolved by disabling wifi N on my router...

I have no issues in my home network but at my university the wifi randomly looses connection at all. It's an EAP encrypted wifi.
