Hello everyone,

Here is my problem: I have a UMI TOUCH and a mobil bundle with 4G, but I can't get it. I go all APN right thing, but to have a small chance of having 3G, I am forced to go through "Cellulars network settings" then "Network operators", expect it finds available networks and select "3G." Sometime i can get the 3G/4G, so my phone CAN caught it ! But it's not automatic and not h24  ... I find on Youtube someone who post a video showing exactly my problem.

Youtube link of the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tib_3ryS2YI

And another problem may be related, I can not seem to do the update UMI TOUCH.
I download the update, I start it, and I get stuck on "Reboot ..." (photo attached)

Sorry if I have a bad english, i'm french.
Thanks for your help

Hi Bence,

thanks for your reply! Yes I did check if the phone will work even before I bought it. As per willmyphonework.net it is supposed to work flawlessly with any of the operators here on every band they offer! As per UMI's spec page it confirms the same!

But things are getting worse for me when it comes to connectivity - another problem popped up - this time with wi-fi! It seems like I can not switch off wi-fi any more. As per the toggle button in settings or quick settings I can switch on/off no problem, wifi active icon disappears and there is no data communication but the wi-fi is still consuming battery like it is switched on. The only way to stop it is to reboot the phone. But at the moment I switch wi-fi on again, the same issues repeats again. I noticed because suddenly during the night my phone consumed 8% energy(basicly 1% every hour) but normally it consumes only 1%. So I checked battery statistics and found this wi-fi issue which wasn't there before. To make it simple my wi-fi is consuming battery constantly like it would be ON all the time no matter if its on or off. Any ideas where the problem is please?

By the way when I received the phone, unboxed it, first thing I did the FOTA update and then installed my apps. I haven't attempted any root method, rom flashing etc.

Thanx a lot

Tom

That is exactly the problem I had with OTA, try restarting your phone in recovery mode  (hold volume up when switching on) then select 'wipe cache' then reboot and try the update again.

Hi, go to Settings > ... More > Cellular Networks > And click on 3G then choose 4G.

Salut, va dans les paramètres, plus, réseaux mobiles, types de réseau préféré et mets 4G.

Dear Skyder34,

Mobile data is disabled by default at UMI Touch. Please check whether you've enabled it in the toolbar drop down menu. Pull down the top line two times to see the switches.

Regards,
Bence

Dear Gadnic,
UMI Touch supports 800/1800/2600MHz LTE bands. Please, check whether your area is covered by one of those frequencies.

Bence

I really appreciate all help possible here. I received my UMI Touch yesterday and starting to feel a bit annoyed here. This should be working "out of the box".....

Just to make your case clear, two questions:
1. Can you establish a 2G/3G mobile data connection but only 4G doesn't work?
2. Do you have a 4G subscription at your service provider. Can you connect to a 4G network with other devices?
