Hi,

Only the most recent versions of both Strava and Runtastic are affected by this issue, so it's probably a problem that the developers of those apps should resolve.
You can download and install the one older version manually and it works properly.

You can add Endomondo to the list ! The problem is due to the phone...

Yes, the phone with its latest firmware can run the one month earlier (or even any more earlier) version of an app properly but not the latest version, because there are problems with the phone. I'm sorry but I can't congratulate for your logic at this time.
These apps probably run the same resources of a kind and that might have some kind of compatibility issues with some specific platforms, that the developers haven't tested.
Anyway the current version (v16.4.0) of Endormodo runs properly on UMI Touch but it's unable to request location access from the system. That's probably a Marshmallow compatibility issue of that app.

FYI I have two other devices under Marshmallow (a moto G and a Xiaomi 1S) and both devices run perfectly well endomondo and runtastic (sorry I don't use strava). So when I say the problem is device related I say it from facts so before being rude and taking for fools be sure to verify what you state !!!

Neither moto G nor Xiaomi 1S are based on MediaTek 64-bit platforms, both of them are Qualcomm devices. Each SoC platform has its own Android SDKs, they don't use the same resources provided by google. I repeat, provided by google Inc., not by UMI.
Next time if you speak about your opinion about something, that's very okay, I just will confute, confirm or ignore it. However, if you claim something as a fact, that's not just false and simply goes against the human logic but also hurts a brand (or even a person) in an undeserved way, I'll just give you back the same "politeness". I am sorry if you can't accept that.

Edited by ret50 at 2016-5-3 05:45 \n\nI think you are very closely related to umi and not very objective. If you read what i say, i'm not bashing umi.  I say that the problem Is hardware related which Is the case you admit it yourself : mediatek + 64 bits + marshmallow it's clearly a matter of drivers since the programs work with other brands. The call to the apis are the same.  If there is a problem it's due to the hardware system image related to the rom itself  not to an up date of the software. You are the one telling false truth. There are problems which I am sure will be corrected but don't tell it's the user fault or the software editor's fault. No one is to blame. The device is still young and I think one if note the major strength of the appolo project Is that umi listens to their customers and will provide solutions to their needs isn't it ? I strongly believe that the umi touch clearly has the potential to be the flagship it claims to be so let the dev listen to the problems we encounter and make it the best device it deserves to be.

I'm sorry but the human logic still has not been recovered. I can't really add anything to this, just ask you to speak about opinions and possibilities if you have doubts.

Edited by marsm69 at 2016-5-3 19:47 \n\nRuntastic Mountainbike Pro still works on the UMI fortunately.
Regarding the bashing above... I thought this forum is a means of sharing information and experiences... I have now noticed several times that repeatable issues appear to be removed from this forum. Like the white dots on the screen and the battery consumption and the camera. These are definately Phone related!
While I can relate to the testing of apps on multiple platforms, I would expect Google play store also to have higher demands to app suppliers like in the IOS store. Further Google Playstore itself does not work properly, especially as everyone knows in conjunction with the UMI fingerprint scanner. Again I think this is a Phone related issue. I may be wrong but would expect there some dialog going on between UMI and other potential Mediatek Phone companies and Google.
While I still like the flawed Touch, it is acceptable that the Windows Rom is still not there (although highly advertised in marketing of UMO) exactly due to new hardware platform. But the fact that the Android ROM also has many compatibility issues makes it dubious what and how this Phone was supposed to run stable at release. For sure problems may be solved over time.... And the price is great, but it still is a commercial product and not a kickstarter initiative...
