I've investigated this issue as my skills and tools made it possible. I also tried to use the same feature in other popular messenger apps (Viber and Whatsapp) but this problem didn't appear in those apps, so this one is definitely an issue of fb messenger.
Anyway the source of the problem is that, fb messenger plays back the sound recording with a higher sampling rate than the value was used for recording - for example 32kHz vs. 44.1kHz. As a result, the recording will be played back about 30% faster (a 10-sec-long recording in 7 secs) and with a high-pitched voice as a result of the higher speed playback.
I reported this issue to the fb messenger team. |
