There is an issue that existed before 3.03 (3.01) and still has not been resolved.

When the phone reaches around 14% battery, the %counter jumps almost instantly to 1% (in less than a minute). The battery does not go through the typical 13, 12, 11, 10% etc battery as time passes.

I am not sure if it means it sucks about 13% of battery in one minute. I don't think so.

I think there is somehow "misscomunication/feedback" problems between system software's OS and the battery. I have the feeling that under this 1% battery lasts longer than it should for being 1%, but this is not the issue.

The issue is that if even this last "1%" lasted 20 minutes or so, there is no way to know (and actually serves no purpose) when the phone will be shutting down with no warning, and this is very annoying.

I have seen this issue has happened before to other Rome's, not just mine.

I wonder if this was not addressed in 3.03 as they were not aware of this issue, or they just tried but could not fix it.

Anyone knows?

In any case, a new ROM should be release to deal with this issue.

I could also state that at about 20% the battery voltage is about 3.5V and the phone turns off at 3.35-3.4V which is not normal. It should do that at 3.6V. Because of the low voltage the current is drained really fast and therefore the % of the battery goes down so fast.

My guess is that they should work on the kernel (i guess) to remap the battery percentage better. I don't think that the carge voltage can be controlled via software, but who knows, i'm no dev.
Cheers,
Hope for improvements.

P.S: I can't actually use my Rome because of the poor battery life. Do something about it. I'm trying to sell it anyway
