Hi Everyone,

I do have this concern with my 2 UMI Rome phones. The battery drains quickly. Anyone else encountered the same issue?
Im sure this can be resolved by firmware update

1:34 PM 100%        -
1:55 PM 94%        - 21 Minutes
2:22 PM 81%        - 38 Minutes
3:37 PM 55%        - 1 Hour 53 Minutes
4:46 PM        18%        - 3 Hours 2 Minutes
5:05 PM 1%        - 3 Hours 11 Minutes
Phone went off - 3 Hours 25 Minutes

Here are the details, I made a video of my Battery test of UMI Rome

Hello
I have the same problem with my UMI Rome, I think the only solution is to forget this phone and never buy a phone brand more UMI.

When I received UMI ROME I measured the battery capacity. Phone was turned off after emptying battery and charged in line with a power meter up to the meter indication was 0.00 mA (charging finished). The real capacity was 2300 mA.
After 4 months use the capacity has fallen to 1600 mA. This is a real problem occuring to any battery, but when the battery is limited to everyday use the lowering capacity becames a big problem.
So, such phones with 5,5" screen need much higher capacity battery in order to have comfortable use for one year or more.

When UMI release higher-capacity battery for UMI ROME?

Dear Porsche,

The capacity of a battery is basically lmited its size. Just a few milliamps can be added by higher density technology. Removable batteries of the same size have lower capacity than a built-in one due to their thicker casings. As an advantage you can buy another battery and replace it anywhere on the go, while that's not possible if your phone uses a built-in battery.
So, releaseing a higher capacity battery for UMI Rome is not planned.

Regards,
Bence

P.s.: eBay, Aliexpress etc. online stores are full of fake batteries advertised as higher capacity ones while only just their printings are higher in fact. Their real capacities are mostly even lower than the stock batteries'.

Edited by Porsche at 2016-5-30 04:18 \n\nI don't see problem in this fact... Bigger battery, by size, by capacity. One addition component is new backcover. For UMI this additional moneys, new big battery - money, new cover - money. There You can see problem?   Thanks bencebacsi for fast answers and help.

Yes, I know about those devices, of course but that's not really a business of smartphone manufacturers. Of course, if you know such examples when a well-known smartphone manufacturer provides such extended batteries for its own models, I'd be glad to know about them.

My be anothers manufacturers don't release bigger batteries (not necessary). But if all UMI Rome users speak that that original UMI Rome battery is to small - UMI can release this bigger battery with additional cover? Or UMI don't heard UMI brand users? Or UMI only make moneys only on trades of smartphones which cannot normal work? Because from beginning my Rome works after power up about 20 hours, after 7 mounts ORIGINAL battery can work only 12-14 hours... You say that UMI don't have interests to sell additional components - but after one mount I have to buy new original battery. I think that with new battery I get same problem - I must buy another after next half year.

Is the battery in the Umi Rome covered by a 1 year warranty?
My phone arrived in January 2016 and now I cannot charge the phone beyond 52% and it dies within 3hrs.

If yes, how to i request a new battery ? Direct with UMI or Banggood?

Thank you
