Umi Iron mic and data problems

My Umi Iron mic is useless as nobody can hear me when on voice calls, I know this is a huge problem with this model and there are certain fixes on the forum to supposedly fix the issue but it voids the warranthy. Since installing the V1.7 updated ROM my mobile data has stopped working! I turn mobile data on and go back to homescreen and it will not work, when I go back to mobile data settings I can see the toggle moving back to "on" from "off". So basically when I exit data settings it switches data from "on" to "off" by itself. I have reset APN settings and tried all other suggestions via a google search to no avail. Can anyone suggest a solution other than sending back to China to wait for months to get it back? What use is a phone that you cannot use to ring people or use mobile data!!!! UMI reps please sort out these issues for me as this is unacceptable for a phone that cost €170.00.

It is unfortunate that you are experiencing these issues. I know there are several forum topics devoted to issues with the mic and thus it is not very useful to repeat all the possible solutions but I am curious to know if this is just the built-in microphone. Have you tried hands-free? Have you tested using a wired headset and/or a Bluetooth headset?

With respects to the data, have you tried the SIM in the other slot? Have you tested with an alternative SIM and/or tried your current SIM in another handset?

If you cannot resolve this issue within the warranty parameters then I strongly suggest you contact your reseller.
