Dear Users with such microphone problem when the mic works in every condition but not in normal phone calls, our engineers say that, it might be a specific software bug and a solution might be worked out.

Hi I am also experiencing problems with Microphone.
From my testing here is my report of the issue:

Problems occurs when phone is charging or occasionally recently after being charged.
Whilst on charge and I make a call I can hear everything fine but the other end cannot hear me.  if I then switch to loudspeaker they still cannot hear me.
If I then disconnect the charger (whilst still on the call)  I can then be heard via handset/loud speaker mode.
I have also noticed that occasionally if I have had phone on charge then someone calls me - despite it no longer being on charge, when I answer the call the person is unable to hear me.
When this occurs I have found connecting any USB type C cable then removing it restores the mic functionality.

This gives me the feeling that the phone is incorrectly trying to use the USB type C port for the mic input.  
Has anyone found a way to get round this or disable this functionality?

I feel all of the security/camera issues reported are claiming all the space here and no one is talking about this problem.

Edit/Update:

Enabled developer options to further investigate/attempt fix of this microphone issue (I feel I have no coice as UMIDIGI clearly are not helping or offering any advice here - this is really fucking annoying as I have to call everyone back now and restarting the phone does not always fix it and it's a joke to have to carry a charge cable with me all the time)

'Select USB Configuration'  -  This seems to be broken- I cannot switch the USB configuration into "Charging"  -  it simply will not save this setting,  can select the option but when close menu and re-enter its defaulted back to MTP.
'Disable USB Audio routing'  -  Tried turning this on - made no difference at all.

I am becoming concerned by the lack of response to a solution for the non-functional microphone.   Can functionality be restored by software/firmware update or is the phone defective?

If you had bothered to respond to our questions and acknowledge the problem when people started to report it, instead of actively ignoring your paying customers, we could have provided you with this information. But now we've been forced to assume that is is a hardware problem (eventhough the microphone seems to do work on firmwares 20180823 and 20180830) and return the phone for a replacement...

Hello am a  a new customer (Marco Benedetti) who bougth  one UMIDIGI Z2 on past 10 sept and arrived on 28th sept in Rome, bought acquired by www.gearbest.com.

Once I received phone on past sept 28th I tested during week-end and realized on Oct 01st
I have an issue with such phone due to fact  microphone for speaking  during calls with the remote interlocutor  cannot transmit and indeed remote usr CANNOT hear Me!!!! Iden if I action GOOGLE
ASSISTEMNT is not working!! My voice or other sounds are captured.

Three tickets have been open by GearBest who are askign to ship back this phone to be checked.

This is a big issue for a phone released our this YeaR let me say and am really DISAPPOINTED!

In september I bought a umidigi pro z 2 at gearbest with the microfon problem.
Two days it worked normally.
When talking on the micro does not work.
what should I do ? send back or wait for an update?

I am still waiting for microphone fix one week later for Z2 Pro.

Today my ONE PRO has developed  the same problem as the Z2 PRO, caller cannot hear me which means the microphone is faulty.
What is going on with UMIDIGI. They are treating their customers really badly.

what about bug with WiFi?
It randomly disconnects a few time per 10 minutes... very annoying!

Also, sensors are acting weird... When I call someone I have black screen even when the proximity sensor is not covered, and I can't see any buttons on my screen.

Another one, compass sensor is also not responding... and on google maps it doesn't know where I point my phone.

The light sensor is also broken... in the daily light, it shows 10lx when it should be above 10 000lx ....

Step counter also seems to not work at all,

What are you selling? o.O

Good day to all. 2 weeks ago I received a new Z2 from Malaysia. Everything is good, but the microphone does not work with mobile calls. Through the headset wired and bletuz - works. Opened the argument - silence. I went to the manufacturer's website - the problem of 09/30/18 was fixed there with an explanation that the matter was in the firmware and a promise that they would fix it as soon as possible. I sent the required data. But time goes on - the problem is not solved. Maybe someone ran and decided?
