Root Problems

Hi guys could really do with some help please.   I am new to ROM’s and whilst Ihave been trying to troubleshoot using the web I am now very stuck!!

I unrooted my phone some time ago using Super SU so I couldrun an app.  

The phone worked fine for a while but now I want install thelatest Umi ROM updates.

I have tried flashing the phone with V1.8 using Rootjoy itstarts pushing the ROM gets to about 100% and then I get an error message “pleaseroot your phone, check the root authority allow”

I assume the problem is that I cannot install the updatewith rootjoy unless I root the phone again

So I have tried rooting again with Super SU but when I try Iget the error message "There is no SU binary installed....you need to manuallyre-root"

I have tried down loading the Super SU Update to the phonesSD card and using the phones recovery mode to install it (pressing power buttonand volume up) I get 3 options recovery, fastboot, normal

I choose “recovery” and then get a picture of the deadandroid robot and “no command message”

I have also tried installing TWRP_2.8.7 recovery.img using Rootjoy“recovery mode” the phone display shows “Fast Boot mode” and Rootjoy gives me anerror message “Install Recovery File Failed, Cannot go to fastboot”

Now I am stuck.

Any ideas?

You can root your phone with iRoot, or flash the v1.8 version with SP FlashTool. Link: http://community.umidigi.com/thread-1655-1-1.html

Thanks for the suggestions,  i have just tried iRoot but rooting failed!    Will give SPFT a go and see what happens.

OK have spent ages trying but still failed.   SPFT and ROM are fine - have downloaded them and they look like they will work fine.  However no matter what I do I cannot get my PC to see the phone via USB when it is turned off - the PC still sees the phone fine when turned on

I have downloaded the VCOM driver and followed the instructions to get it working,  because I am using Windows 10 I had to disabled digital driver signature verification etc.   But I always end up with "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" error message.  I have even tried setting it up on an old XP laptop in case it was Win 10 that was the problem but even that won't work.  Any ideas how I get the USB driver working properly.
