I dropped a glass of water on the table and some of it got to the phone. It was so little water that I didn't even worry about it. I dried everything and continued with what I was doing. After some time (maybe one hour), I picked up the phone and it was like frozen so I restarted it (Holding the power button).

Now the touch screen doesn't work and the phone only reads the SIMs intermittently.
The fingerprint reader and all other buttons work, but the screen doesn't detect any touch input.

After some more restarts and removing and puting back again the SIMs, the phone is going crazy: the screen is dimming and blinking and the phone is restarting itself over and over.
It seemd like something inside is making a bad connection. Looks very bad.

Any ideas? Also, how can I turn the phone off? I can't use the screen and I don't think I have the tool to open the little screws on the bottom of the phone.

An update in case anyone has a similar issue in the future:

Finally, I left the phone in a repairing shop, They opened it and cleaned it and the problem remains. I'm going to buy a new screen and see if that helps (it looks like the digitizer is completely dead). I don't have many hopes but whatever.

Will post the results, it will take a while.

Try to put it in a bowl of rice (uncooked lol) to make it dry to the maximum, it may not be quite dry.

For the demonter, a small screw cross screw should do the trick, but I doubt that this is a good idea, now you can can connect to a pc and a with software you may be able to put it out ( Works with L'iphonce)
I use Wondershare MobileGo

Thanks for the answer. Update:

After some minutes going crazy, the phone turned itself off. I don't know if it was finally dying but it turned off.
So I'm doing the rice thing, although I know it won't help much. The amazon offcial seller says that I should open the phone, remove the battery and let it dry under the sun.

I don't find anything to open the phone with and I have no sun here, so...

Will update whenever I try to turn the phone on again after work. I don't have many hopes.

Hi All.

After waiting for a while I tried to turn the phone on and everything is at the same state.

Things look to be working on the phone (I get emails, messages, notificacations...) . If I plug in headphones, the icon appears. The battery icon always shows 100% though, which doesn't make sense. Wi-fi works.

The buttons on the side work, the fingerprint scanner works. But the touch screen doesn't detect any input. Since you have to introduce the pattern code when you restart, the phone is stuck in that state.

I discovered that if you press and hold the power button plus the volume up button the phone turns off.

I also tried to connect to the phone with Vysor or MobileGo, neither work since I can't do anything on the phone to alow the connection.

So, basically almost everything works as normal but the touch screen doesn't get any input, no matter how hard you press it.

Any ideas? I guess next thing is to buy the tools to open the phone myself or maybe bring it to one of those guys who repairs phones.

The crazy thing is that the amount of water that reached the phone was so small that I'm starting to think that maybe is has nothing to do with it...it would be a huge coincidence. Any known issues similiar to mine?

I may add that my ohine was 5 weeks old

The water fell on which party of the telephone?
Actually it's strange, and I think has a short electric juice, the best thing is to replace the tactile screen: /

Thanks Sad.

The phone was on the table and the water just hit it for a moment, it was quite brief and not a lot of water, so the phone wasn't like soaking wet or anything. I was thinking that maybe the water went in through the speaker holes at the bottom, that would make sense. The speakers apparently work correctly, though.

Do you think I need to replace the screen then? Because I was thinking that maybe the problem was a bad connection or something, it doesn't look like the water could damage the whole screen. Any way, I will consider that option, thanks for the link.

The thing is, I don't have much time (or skill) to fumble around with the phone, so I may bring it to a repairing shop in my city, although that option doesn't give me much hope either.

Maybe the water has come into contact with the connector of the screen on the motherboard
