OTG & TYPE C CABLE SOLUTION

For those having trouble with finding a working Type C cable to hold securely into the charging port, Umi directed me to the following links

AliExpress: https://goo.gl/nCn1id (Original Umi cable)
AliExpress: https://goo.gl/OBSrKp (Bastec cable is also suitable)

For a cheaper alternative you could buy an inexpensive cable such as the following and make some minor alterations

Ebay: https://goo.gl/sfszWr

I have the same cable and I trimmed down the plastic coating with a Stanley knife which is quite easy to do and they fit / clip into the charging port, you could probably get away with trimming down by 0.5mm however I trimmed it down by 1mm and they are fine

If you are having trouble finding cables to clip into charging port, its safe to assume the same with OTG Adapter, Umi also recommended the following adapter which I currently have and works perfectly

POOR 4G SIGNAL SOLUTION

If anyone is getting poor 4G signal coverage due to location, being indoors, on the train etc I have been entering into Engineering mode and setting my network selection to 'LTE only', it has been providing a steady signal strength so I may continue using the internet/play games etc at a desirable speed even in conditions where the signal would revert to 3G or 3G coverage was really poor.

1. Enter Engineering mode -Type *#*#3646633#*#* into dialer or download: https://play.google.com/store/ap ... eerStarter&hl=en_GB (If using app click MTK Settings)
2. Land on Telephony Tab > Scroll down to 'Network Selecting'
3.
Choose designated 4G Sim (SIM1 OR SIM2)
4.
Set preferred network type to 'LTE only'
5. Exit -
signal will take a few seconds to refresh

In 'LTE only' mode you will not be able to recieve or make calls so make sure you revert back to 4G/3G/2G(auto) or 4G/3G.Once I am in a location where I know 4G has good coverage I revert back to 4G/3G.

Hopefully this becomes useful for others.

SYSTEM UI TUNER

This will allow you to rearrange the quick settings tiles, hide/show icons on the status bar and enable to show battery percentage inside the battery status bar icon. To activate the System UI Tuner:

1. Pull down notification bar
2. Press and hold gear icon on top right corner for 5 seconds, you will receive confirmation
3. Open Settings, scroll down to the bottom and you will find System UI Tuner

HARDWARE COMPONENT TEST / POWER ON OFF TEST & FACTORY RESTORE (SETTINGS)

1. Simply open your Dialer and enter the following: *#*#33#*#*
