UMi Z Android 7.1.1 first beta released

Dear current and future UMi Z users,

We are glad to inform you, the first beta of the Android 7.1.1 upgrade for UMi Z has been released and will be available for download in the beta ROM section from tonight, a few hours later.



Please note, it's an early beta release with some missing major functions for test purpose only.
For the download link, instructions and further info, please check the beta ROM section tomorrow.

I got the v3.02_20170411 update today (1st JUNE 2017). I can confirm that for me it is a good update. What has changed compared to the v3.02_20170317 are:
1. A more sensitive screen rotation
2. Google assistant is now enabled when I say 'Ok Google' or when I use an earphone to activate Google assistant (but we still cannot activate Google assistant via the home button).
3. I can slide down the notification bar from anywhere on the home screen (no need to reach the top of the phone to slide down the notification bar). BUT one issue with the notification bar is that once pulled down, the background is completely black (it should have been greyed out or tinted as we usually see but now pitch black as seen in the image). But I am sure that UMIDIGI can solve that.

Overall I like the v3.02_20170411 update, good job UMIDIGI on optimising the software. And wait for the update via OTA guys, you might get it soon if not received yet, as well as the Android Nougat (which might take a while though depending on the different region of the globe).

But after a looonnnnng teasing about Nougat Update, we are a bit suspicious.

They did not even publish the 2nd beta. Im not too optimistic that they will release the ota anytime soon.

If you are in Europe (like myself), I think it will be in late afternoon or evening if it's "today" ^^

My latest info from this afternoon: The 7.1.1 SPFT ROM is being uploaded (so if that's true, I can share it tomorrow), and the OTA update will be pushed to the server on Thursday.

They didn't provide a date for the OTA release. At the moment it still needs improvements to fix the known bugs.
