UMi Diamond durability tests: over 10k drops and it’s still alive! [VIDEO]
From previous news, we know that UMi Diamond will be a tough phone, able to resist bump and scratches better than common phones. One of the main focus of the product is the resistance of the display - a strengthened glass must be scratch-resistant and shock-proof, and the T2X-1 glass used by the UMi Diamond offers both qualities at a high degree. Also, the materials used for the metal frame and the back cover help to reduce the damage caused by random impacts, redounding to preserve the functioning of the phone.
But UMi today wanted to show a video where we show a few examples of the tests which the UMi Diamond undergoes in reliable lab tests to prove its strength, showing how much it can be tortured. So, in the video we saw some snapshots of the tests but let’s have a look at the full data emerging from the tests:
First test: Dropping the phone from 10cm Cell phone condition: Powered On Number of times dropped: Front and back side 3500 times each, the four edges respectively 250 times, for a total of 8000 times Test report: After the test is completed, the appearance and performance of the phone are normal
Second test: Dropping the phone from 1.2m Cell phone condition: Powered On Number of times dropped: Front and back side 6 times each, 4 angle drops, for a total of 16 drops Test report: The product suffered some minor scratches but the phone function is normal
Third test: Pressure test Cell phone condition: Powered On Pressure applied: 250N Number of times tested: 1000 times Test report: After the test is completed, the appearance and performance of the phone are normal Forth test: Mobile Roll Dropping Test Cell phone condition: Powered On Altitude: 50cm Number of runs: 150 Test report: The product suffered some minor scratches but the phone function is normal
Fifth test: Temperature & humidity test Cell phone condition: Powered On Temperatures: up to +55℃, Humidity: up to 95% Running Time: 24hrs Test report: After the test is completed, the appearance and performance of the phone are normal
