So there is no point in trying your fix? Yeah that would make sense because our "15 megapixel" pictures suck ass.

Umi emax has a Sony IMX135 sensor while the TCL M2M has a Sony IMX214 sensor, you know a device that ...

Thought it is omnivision

How about this:

and this:

Good luck with Lollipop on the emax. I will stay with my new Nexus 5X.

Oh you lucky butt! Come share that Nexus with us..... Haha.

But yeah you're right. The OmniVision seems abit more "Umi" like. (Mmmm that FAKE 15mp)

unfortunately I can not trace the mounted sensor type, even going to the factory mode, only UMI can tell us really sensor mounts

Did you read back? Holzi sent two links with people that already discovered the sensor.

OV8858 from Omnivision on the backside and a gc2755 from I dont know.
...
Just stumbled accross a github repository with the kernel source of Elephone P6000. It contains a driver for the ov8858 camera sensor. Maybe we can compile it and run it on the Emax.

And:

Loewenzahn
Maybe someone with deeper knowledge can have a look into this repo too
Some ARM64 defconfigs for MT6752, with settings for OV8858.

unfortunately the OV8858 is mounted as a photo sensor front in many devices and not as rear
