UMI eMAX lollipop discussion

Well, my last smartphone was a Google Nexus S, so even with being stucked at 4.4.4 I'd say, the Emax was an upgrade.

I think because by dint of being on the forum to read all the complaints of the people living in the despair of failure to update LL will be afraid
Also because there are still no reviews of users who have had Emax Mini.

I see no logical because UMI to defend any attack made by users in this forum. You can be happy with the phone, but if others are not may express their views here and not have to put up with someone like you that this whole time defiendiendo the indefensible.

And I think I speak for many users of this forum.

everyone is entitled to make comments, and also to complain about everything they see fit; It can certainly be constructive report problems, also to try together, as it should be in the characteristics of each community, to solve and get answers. I do not defend anyone, as I have written many times, but simply read, and I do a review about what I read. People like you, who write posts like these:

1)“Umi is not a serious business, and it is proving,falsifying specifications and breaking promises to sell the more the better ...

Honestly, do you think that your posts can somehow be useful to someone? Or do you think that they are clever remarks and contain proposals, information, advice or other? And you think you speak for many? I'm sorry, but you just laugh, and I think I speak for many.

pipa89's posts are useful to me because I share pipa89's frustrations.

UMi does not listen to proposals, information, advice or other with regard to eMax lollipop. They don't even give proper time frame.

pipa89 speaks for me.

I only said reality, what is happening. However you only talk the talk, I'm sorry but that's what I think, and respect their opinion but I do not share.

Ok guys, I respect the opinions of all. I understand your frustrations about all concern that topic and over.
I do not agree that complain and threaten not solve the problems. And since the forum it is full of people who just writes things like this in the long run one gets bored. Why not instead created a topic dedicated to the protests and declarations of sale / destruction / disgraced / and adverse publicity?
Nothing personal, I always like the comparison, at whatever level it may be.

Why is there no response from Umi itself about the update of the emax to lollipop?This is ridiculous, first promise, then do nothing and then silent.This was once a umi, but never again!!!!

Now I must say that's better not to expect the lollipop upgrade for eMAX. That's still possible but not promised anymore.
We know that, this model is developed and made by TCL. UMI eMAX is a slightly modified version of TCL M2M. What we can suspect, UMI probably contracted with TCL to develop and manufacture this phone with installed Android KitKat but they haven't negotiated about a future lollipop upgrade. TCL was not willing to build that lollipop firmware or asked for a too high price, so some UMI developers tried to create that firmware by their own but they have failed. The third participant in this story is MediaTek, the developer of the MT6752 SoC built in the eMAX. Gossips say that, MTK refuses to provide the lollipop source code for this SoC (as well as for MT6592 too). That might be true since (for example) two flagship models of some major brands with MT6752 SoC, Meizu M1 Note and Jiayu S3 still come out from the box with KitKat, no official and final lollipop upgrades are known.
UMI probably trusted his developers and business partners overly, that finally made them not to be able to abide their promise.
As a conclusion, I can suggest everybody who can't live without lollipop to sell their eMAX and buy another phone. All the others - who still love this anyway great device - might continue using it until the next change that's justifiable by upgraded hardware or new features.
