Dear Users,

Please let me explain how the battery manufacturing works with the help of an example.
In fact, there are just a few manufacturers in the world, that make good quality Li-Ion battery cells (Sony, LG, Panasonic and a few more) but there are a lot of manufacturers that build many kinds of specific batteries using those relatively few sorts of battery cells.
Here's the high resolution photo of an HP notebook battery, that contains 6 pieces of 18650 battery cells made by Sony.

You can read the following text on its label: "CELL ORIGIN JAPAN FURTHER PROCESSED CHINA"
So about UMi Z and other UMi phones using Sony batteries the case is just the same. A Chinese manufacturer makes the specific battery units built from Sony battery cells for UMi. Basically the cells themselves store the electrical energy and the device specific electronics around them just control the charging/discharging processes. So to tell that, UMi Z comes with a built-in Sony battery is a correct statement.
