You always should flash the preloader since usually that also gets updated and keeping the old one ...

Yes, it's false. That's a very old tutorial but now I've made some corrections on it. Please check it again. Later I'm going to write a new tutorial.

This one is an update under the new brand name 'UMIDIGI' and it won't be available via FOTA update (due to the brand change), you can flash it only with SP Flash Tool.

Will FOTA updates be available again after flashing firmware with the new brand name UMIDIGI or they are gone forever?

I am currently on previous firmware, I wonder if they fixed the front camera color issue, I would like to upgrade, but I have TWRP and some apps installed that will be lost after upgrade, I really hope it will be worth to upgrade.

P.s. thanks UMIDIGI for keeping updates alive for this phone, keep the good work!

saudinterzic, yes I heard about someone made Android 7 for this phone, but it is still bugy and for some ridiculous reasons the maker do not want to share it with everyone, so thanks, but I preffer official release from UMIDIGI with Android 6 - currently it is the best we can have for our phones...

Yes, after flashing this ROM your phone will be able to receive FOTA updates but I don't know yet if they'll be released or not.
You can flash this ROM without the recovery and user data (uncheck those partitions), so you can keep your apps and the TWRP recovery.

In device manager mediatec usb com port all time is enable and dissable after 5 seconds...

If you see 'MediaTek USB VCOM port' without 'preloader', try to first flash only the preloader partition. Uncheck all other partitions. Then you can flash all partitions.
