Edited by Kaluschke at 2017-3-6 19:51 \n\nHi,
this Thread is to collect all usefull hints and tricks for that UMIdigi Z.
Please don't discuss problems etc.. only tipps and tricks.

1. Factory Mode:
http://www.hardreset.info/devices/umi/umi-super/factory-mode/
--> works also for UMI Z

2. recovery:
Press and hold the volume-up and power buttons together until your phone restarts in the boot selector mode.
It needs about 10 seconds or a little bit less if your phone was already powered off. Here you can move with the vol-up button and select an item with vol-down.
Select Recovery.
Your phone reboots into Recovery and you see a lying android figure with an exclamation mark in red triangle on its tummy.
Press and hold the power and vol-up buttons (in this order) together, then release them to call the recovery menu.
Now you can move with the volume buttons and select an item with the power button.

3. engineering mode:
open the dialer and type *#*#3646633#*#* to start the EngineerMode

4. TWRP installation:
http://community.umidigi.com/for ... &highlight=TWRP

Be carefully what you do in that modes.
every modification can result in unwanted effects

If the volume of your speaker is too loud follow this:

Code:

1. Open the dialer and type *#*#3646633#*#* to start the EngineerMode
2. Scroll right to the Hardware Testing page and select Audio → Volume → Audio Playback
3. Select System in the first drop-down list and Speaker in the second one
4. Set Index 1 to a much lower value, 20 for example (the original value should be 88)
It’s worth the time to create a balanced setup of the available volume levels, so as the Index values follow each other, set up something like 20, 44, 78, 114, then for Index 5 you may leave the original value of 136.
5. When you finished, scroll down, tap on the Set button at the Set button of the screen and your settings will take effect immediately.

Great sound for UMi Z. Install through TWRP on a clean firmware without music mods.
