In principle, customers expect secure systems. For this reason, Android 7 is a basic component of any device. It is incomprehensible that still devices with Android 6 are sold. Android 8 is already almost finished and the customers have to accept old waste.

This is most unacceptable, postponing the 7.0 update further and further. Umi should not promise something on which they cannot deliver. They advertised this phone as being able to update to android 7 out of the box, and still 4 months later still nothing. Most irresponsible.

While I am satisfied with the hardware and performance of the phone, this is a deal breaker and i will not be buying any more umi phones in the future.

Umi is not alone with empty promises. Many others also sell pie in the sky. Elephone is a similar example. I can not sell anything I do not have. There are china extra laws but no one is concerned.
Flagship killer look different. Elephone and UMI are similar to German military... they do not work.

Hi All,

Recently purchased this phone first thing it did was update to this version of software. I have a few problems that I'm hoping you can help me with both of which I've already sent as feeback in the wireless update app without any response.

1) The most annoying one is the SmallWindow error when using Google Play Music. I subscribe to this service and I'm not willing to move away it should work but unfortunately this Umi baked in app is causing problems. I wouldn't mind if you could at least disable it but you can't. Are there any solutions? I've had a look around and can't find any although it seems the most recent updates to other Umi phones has solved the issue. If this is so where is the update for Umi Plus E?

2) Bluetooth is a bit sketchy it doesn't seem to have the best of ranges and breaks up when listening to music on bluetooth headphones. Hopefully this can be fixed with software.


Any help with either would be great. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

1) It's not the issue of this version but a specific issue of your system. Probably another installed app causes it or a conflict caused by the cached and saved data of earlier versions of the Play Music or Google Play Services apps. Before requesting an update, I suggest you to perform a factory data reset to get a clean installation of the latest ROM and test your phone in that environment.
2) Your phone should be checked separately, maybe the bluetooth antenna doesn't have a perfect connection with the motherboard.

I also can not listen to music through bluetooth, holding the phone in my pocket

I've tried a factory reset along with all the hassle that goes along with it and it has made no difference to the SmallWindow error when using Google Play Music.

When you say phone should be checked separately for Bluetooth what do you mean? Are you saying I should send the phone back for repair?

Sorry but that won't happen. If you can get access to a Windows computer, you can use SPFT.

Your product isn't recognized by my 3 computers (Windows 10 and 7)... But the Oneplus 2 with the same cable it is ^^

Beside the official ROM releases (that you also can find here), that user shared some stolen software contents without authorization. We requested needrom to remove only those contents and only at that one user. The reaction was different. Custom ROMs and recovery images or anything else shared by other needrom users for UMI(DIGI) devices are still available.
