This is the SP Flash Tool version of the

V3.03_20170209 firmware

for UMI Rome X

Flash Tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!

WARNING!

SP Flash Tool is not for updating your phone but for repairing its software if needed. You get all available and needed updates via OTA. This release here is for supporting specific devices (in case when their software needs to be repaired). If your phone has currently a different ROM version (not V3.03) installed, this ROM might be incompatible.

This one is an update under the new brand name 'UMIDIGI' and it won't be available via FOTA update (due to the brand change), you can flash it only with SP Flash Tool.

UMIDIGI Rome X is not a different model, it's just a new brand. You can update your UMi Rome X smartphone with this ROM without risking its usability and without voiding your warranty. It is an official update for UMi Rome X.

If you are updating an earlier version, it is recommended to flash this ROM as 'Firmware Upgrade'!

Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6580_Android_scatter.txt)

is inside the extracted folder, together with the other elements.

SPFT:

SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1648.rar

(use this one instead of the old version linked in the UMI forum guide)

VCOM driver:

Windows 10 already automatically can install it or you can use this: MTK_Driver_Auto_Installer_SP_Drivers_20160804.exe

This firmware isn't suitable for old Umi Rome X. Display drivers are for new displays. If somebody want to try it, please:
1.Make backup of your system
2. Use old boot and lk.bin.
3. Use firmware at your own risk....

There are 2 problems (V3.03_20170209 - V3.07 20161226 1) poor focus works 2) when the smartphone is switched off by the charging may not work or the display shows 100% //// tested on several smartphones ..

I think you haven't read the info written with red letters. V3.0x is related to the hardware version while the date stamp tell about the age of the specific ROM version. So a 20170209 (9th February 2017) is obviously newer than a 20161226 (26th December 2016) one.
