Hi all.

This has been going on for a few weeks now.

It started with my Max turning off unexpectedly in use, and then showing different battery levels when I turned it back on - it might show a near-full charge before it turned itself off, but this would be at just a couple of % when it came back on. Then it would turn itself off again at randoms times.

It's now been 'dead' for a week or so, and simply refuse to come on. Plugging in the charger gives no response. It's been like this for a couple of weeks now with me repeatedly trying to start it up and/or recharge it to no avail. Then today I tried plugging in the charger again and it worked... It started at zero charge but charged up seemingly ok over the next hour or so. It would also turn on and behave normally for a few hours.

Then I went to it just now - half an hour since it last worked ok - and dead again. No response whatsoever, not from trying to charge it and not from trying to start it up.

It's still under warranty, but this will involve a return to China - which I intend to do as I love the phone. However, I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas before I do this?

Thanks.

Thank you, MarcinP.

That makes interesting reading.

Sadly, since the phone won't turn on, I cannot try a 'flash', and I won't be opening it since it's still under warranty - so I guess it's a sit back and wait for a slow boat to China!

Otherwise a great phone - rats...

Cheers.

Hi
Phone no need switching on to flash system. When you using SPFT you need switch off your device.
I hope that everything will be fine.

Sorry for the slow reply, MarcinP - I wanted to be 100% clear I knew what I was doing before committing myself to a flashing :-)

Even tho' my phone is completely dead - and plugging it in to my my Win10 PC gives a 'connect' sound followed immediately by a 'disconnect' one - the firmware download did appear to go fine andI got the big green success 'tick' at the end.

But, phone is still dead. It won't charge, won't turn on, won't reset ('on' + 'vol up') nothing.

Anything else I can try before I have to return it to BangGood?

Thanks.

Hi. Yes, I did - following the guidelines in the link you gave me.

This appeared to go well and resulted in a successful green 'tick' at the end. I think I retried three times in all, when it didn't bring the phone back to life the first time.

(I did get a "ERROR: STATUS _DOWNLOAD_EXCEPTION (0xC0050003)" report the very first time, but it worked on the second, thrid and fourth attempts.)

Comments

Probably there was some misunderstanding as I didn't say clear enough. ;-)  Post time 2017-2-25 23:11

Do not say that you flashed or update your device to seller in case loosing warranty. So only say that phone shut down it self and won't restart

Ah! Thank you - that's good advice!

(I'd assumed this was an official UMI forum so was 'approved', but I can see that there's lots of 'at your own risk' stuff here too!)

Ok, return it is, and keep mum...

Many thanks for your help.
