Does this update (V3.01_20161228) will be available as a file FOTA as the previous update or the only way would be to install it according to the instructions given above (SPFT)?

Yes, sooner or later but this update will be available via OTA. Still not all users have been served with the first OTA.

With the format+downalod option the nvram partition will be erased, so you lose your IMEI numbers and have to re-flash them with SN Write Tool. If your bug is related to the nvram partition, formatting can help anyway.

I had reported similar problem of App Closing

For me the problem was not with contacts or phone dailer but with other apps like voice recorder,  Google search  and other apps

Because of this problem of App Closing I decided to down grade to "M"

But as you suggested to wait for update I did not down grade

Now update is available I will try.

Is it a upgrade file or full ROM ( 20161228)
