This is the SP Flash Tool + downloadable OTA release of the
V7.0 20161208_194714 firmware
for UMI Diamond

Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!
UMI Diamond receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this tool only in case of emergency (if you've bricked your phone), if you want to apply a clean install or if you want to clear all root access and custom recovery to make your phone able to receive FOTA updates again.

Resources for SPFT:

Flashtool tutorials: UMI Forum or androidxda guide or YouTube guide (you can google a lot of other solutions and guides)

ROM: UMiDiamond_20161208-194714_songlixin_PC.rar - Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6755_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other elements

SPFT: SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1648.rar (use this one instead of the old version linked in the UMI forum guide)

VCOM driver: Windows 10 already automatically can install it or you can use this: MTK_Driver_Auto_Installer_SP_Drivers_20160804.exe

Here's an optional solution to start the flashing process on your UMI Diamond if the standard method doesn't work. It's especially useful if your phone is bricked or is stuck in bootloop
1. Connect your UMI Diamond to USB.
2. Start the flashing process with the Download button in the flasher app.
3. Press and keep pressed the power button of your phone until the flashing process starts (red bar appears at the bottom of the app window), then release it. In this process you have to keep the power button pressed for about 10 seconds.
4. Wait until the flashing process finishes.

Manual (local) OTA update method instructions
1. Copy the downloaded .zip file to either the internal memory or the SD card of your phone
2. Go to Settings --> About phone --> Wireless update
3. Tap the 3-dot menu button at the top right corner and select Local updates
4. Brows for the ...update.zip file and select it
5. Tap Install now, comfirm the process with OK and wait until the process will be finished

Due to too many hater posts and lies in it, this post has been closed.
Just to summarize:
1. I admitted that the self enabling Unknown resources issue is present. I also admitted that, it's a security issue as well, especially at noobs who tend to visit unreliable web pages without knowing what happens there. I have never stated that, this issue does not hold any security risks.
2. I firmly confuted that, the original stock system software itself contains any kind of malware apps or codes. It does not contain. I asked you multiple times to prove the opposite but that has not happened. I have 3 UMi Diamond handsets around me in everyday use but no one of them has ever got installed any kind of unwanted apps.

Perform a factory data reset. There are no such issues with this version in its factory state.

This version doesn't contain any malware or harmful backdoor app.

How can you say there's no malware ?
There is malware in the rom which installs fake apps and stores its in the directory named 'miniappstore' . Every time you remove this folder, this malware will change the 'unknow sources' setting and install these unwanted apps.

Everything is explained in this thread. http://community.umidigi.com/thread-6116-5-1.html

Please read our findings and comments to find a solution

I've replied that thread again. There's nothing in the stock system that you're talking about.

There is a malware in the stock rom.
I did a factory reset several times, and without any 3rd party programs, the "unknown sources" option is automatically turning on and on again. The OTA app cannot be disabled, its enabling itself automatically too, and in every 2-3 days, some unwanted app is installed on the phone, without my permission or any question.

Once again: the stock rom, after a factory reset, without any 3rd party apps, contains malware. It's not a question, it's a fact.

In december, there was a new software version in every 2nd week. And now? The customers are waiting, and after a month, there's still nothing...
Why?

The update is on the way but I still can confirm only the issue of the automatically enabling 'unknown sources' option. My test device has been all time turned on with working internet connection for weeks already but any kind of apps have never get installed automatically.
I've extracted the spende.zip file (it's a non.installable apk) and only the classes.dex (java applet container) file in it is reported as an infected one by virus scanners but after extracting the content of the classes.dex file as well, no one of the java applets or other files in it are reported as infected ones, so it definitely seems to be a false alert, what is not a unique issue of any virus scanners.
